This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of Cointab Software Private Limited on the collection, use and disclosure of your information.

Storing of Information

Profile: In order to serve you better, we store your profile information such as first name, last name, email ID, mobile number, and device details.

Contacts: We use mobile numbers to identify each users so that you can easily transfer money to your friends and family. For this purpose we store mobile numbers of your phone contacts.

Bank Account Details: In order to credit or debit your bank account, we need your bank account numbers. But to protect your privacy we do not store your bank account number in our system and instead use a reference number and few digits to identify your account.

Bank Account Balance: We understand this is the most sensitive information about your financial life, hence we DO NOT store it in our system. When you raise a request to check your account balance on Cointab, we fetch account balance from your bank and just display it on your device. It is not stored anywhere in our system.

Transactions: In order to help you quickly view your transaction history or raise any dispute we store basic transaction data such as amount, date, time, description and recipient’s details.

UPI-PIN: Every transaction is authorized by UPI PIN. We do not read or store your UPI PIN. Each time you enter UPI PIN on Cointab, it is automatically encrypted on your device and then sent to your bank where it is decrypted and verified. No one apart from your bank can decrypt it.

Employee Provident Fund: For fetching your employee provident fund account we need your EPF credentials. But to safeguard your information, it is stored locally on your mobile and not on our servers. Also, to protect your privacy we do not store your provident fund passbook on our servers.

Sharing of Information

Your financial data is yours and is extremely confidential, hence we do not share your personal & financial data with any 3rd party for commercial purposes.

When we share your information with other companies to help us provide our services to you, we require them to comply with all applicable legal requirements regarding the privacy of your information.

Although unlikely, we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate governmental authorities. If requested as part of a legal proceeding, we will provide this information upon receipt of the appropriate documentation.

Cointab use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
